Fragile
I live through each day
with a fragile heart.
I keep it protected from pain,
from truth
lest it shatter and destroy me,
kill me.

I walk around the earth
and hope that my heart will remain quiet.
That the protection I give will be enough.
That it can survive long enough.
Survive until the day
I can unveil the truth
that lives at the depths of my heart.
