"this word conjures up a lot of scary stuff...feeling guilty because we've done something wrong, or revealing something that we've been hiding because of fear of what revealing ourselves might mean.

we've all hidden behind layers of opaqueness, showing that which we hope people will find acceptable. if we're lucky there's at least one person in our lives that sees us as we are...and loves us because of it.

as we get older, it's easier to just be who we are. no need to hide, no need to confess.
